HSC COATING — Hot Surface Coating for personnel safety

Acrylic ceramic insulating coating for medium-temperature surfaces. Service to 176°C / 350°F. Personnel-protection on hot pipework and vessels.

HSC COATING

⁨HSC®⁩ (Hot Surface Coating) is a water-borne acrylic blend with ceramic compounds engineered to control heat transfer on surfaces operating up to 176°C (350°F). Apply directly to hot pipes up to 162°C (325°F) while in service — no shutdown required. Used for personnel-protection over steam pipework, oven walls, and process equipment, and for retaining heat inside vessels. Non-flammable, non-toxic, low-VOC.

Frequently asked questions

What temperature can ⁨HSC COATING®⁩ handle?

Continuous service up to 176°C (350°F). It can be applied directly to live pipework up to 162°C (325°F) without shutting the equipment down. Adhesion holds above 1090°C in steady state, so the coating remains safe through brief overheating events.

What is the difference between HSC and HPC?

⁨HPC®⁩ (Hot Pipe Coating) targets energy efficiency on hot process equipment — three formulas cover up to 204°C, 426°C, and 650°C. ⁨HSC®⁩ (Hot Surface Coating) is the personnel-safety product for medium-temperature surfaces (up to 176°C) — typically steam piping, oven walls, and accessible process equipment.

Is the coating flammable or toxic?

No. ⁨HSC®⁩ is a water-borne acrylic-ceramic blend — non-flammable, non-toxic, low-VOC. Safe to apply in enclosed industrial environments with standard ventilation.

How is HSC applied?

Brush, roller, or airless sprayer. Can be applied directly to hot pipes up to 162°C (325°F) while the equipment is in service. Apply thin coats on hot surfaces first, then build thicker coats as the surface cools.

Which substrates does HSC work on?

Standard steam piping, oven walls, process vessels, heat exchangers, and any accessible process equipment. Suitable for steel, stainless, and concrete. For specific installation details, consult the HSC application sheet.
