The problem

Metal, asbestos-cement, and concrete roofs absorb direct solar radiation for most of the day, raising interior temperatures by 8–12°C and adding tens of percent to cooling loads. Traditional insulation requires thickness, structural backing, and high install cost — often impractical on existing roofs.

The solution

SUPER THERM® is a 0.3–0.5 mm ceramic-membrane coating that blocks 96.1% of total solar radiation (NASA-tested). It is spray- or brush-applied on the existing roof with no demolition or structural reinforcement. For roofs also exposed to mechanical impact or high humidity, we specify a RUST GRIP® primer under the topcoat for corrosion protection.

Results

Field measurements at industrial sites in Israel and abroad show 8–12°C drops in external surface temperature, 25–40% reduction in cooling costs on large buildings, and verified 20+ year service life. The ceramic-sphere structure preserves reflectance over time.

Frequently asked questions

  • When does the coating pay back?

Typical Israeli ROI: 18–36 months on large buildings with active AC. Higher electricity rates and lower shading shorten the payback.

  • Can I apply it on a roof in service?

Yes. SUPER THERM® is designed for application on live roofs with no demolition. Only basic prep is required: cleaning, rust removal where present, and a primer if needed.

  • What is the fire rating?

Class A under ASTM E-84 — the most stringent for flame spread and smoke development.
