Marine & port corrosion protection
Multi-layer RUST GRIP® + ENAMO GRIP® system for ships, ports, marine tankage, and water towers — verified against long-term accelerated salt-spray exposure.
Request technical adviceThe problem
Marine infrastructure — ports, jetties, marine fuel tanks, ships, water towers — suffers from accelerated corrosion driven by salt, humidity, oxygen, and mechanical stress. Conventional paints peel within 3–5 years, and expensive maintenance cycles drive downtime.
The solution
RUST GRIP® is a single-component, moisture-cure polyurethane that bonds to existing rust, locks it down, and prevents future corrosion. It applies directly over light-rust steel surfaces. Over it we apply ENAMO GRIP® — a two-component polyurethane enamel with UV stability and color retention. This system has passed 15,000+ hours of ASTM B-117 salt-spray testing.
Results
MIL-SPEC certified for marine defense projects. Deployed on cargo vessels, ports, and marine tankage worldwide. Chevron’s 8-year RUST GRIP® study on drill pipes produced industry-leading results.
Frequently asked questions
Can I apply it on rusted surfaces?
RUST GRIP® is engineered for it — it penetrates existing rust and forms an energetic layer that stabilizes it. Only mechanical cleaning is required, not white-metal sandblasting.
What service life can I expect in seawater?
The RUST GRIP® + ENAMO GRIP® system is designed for 15+ years under typical marine exposure. In the harshest environments, an ENAMO GRIP® refresh may be needed after 8–10 years.
